Apply for a scholarship

The application for the Humana Foundation 2023 Scholarship Program is now open. Applications are due by 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Scholarships

The Humana Foundation has contributed more than $12 million dollars in college scholarships for children of Humana employees since 2001. We partner with Scholarship America to manage and administer scholarships.

Children of Humana employees* who plan to pursue a college degree can apply to receive a Humana Foundation Scholarship of up to $3,000, renewable for up to three years or until the student earns a degree. The Humana associate must have three years of continuous employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Associates from companies recently acquired by Humana, Inc. must have at least one year of service with Humana in addition to two years prior service with the previous employer.

*Children of officers of Humana Inc. or its subsidiaries are ineligible to apply to the program.

Scholarship details

Humana scholars receive annual awards of up to $3,000. The awards are renewable for 3 years, or until a degree is earned.

Children of part-time employees can receive scholarships of up to $1,500. These are also renewable for 3 years, or until a degree is completed.

Selection is competitive and based on academics, financial need, community service and school leadership. There is no minimum GPA requirement.

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status or marital status.

Scholarship America informs all Humana Foundation scholarship applicants about the decision to either approve or decline your request. Please check the Scholarships Section of our website to find out when to expect a status update for your application.
