2021 has been a year of significant transition and change for many of us as we adapt to the new normal while continuing to navigate challenges in our world. As such, The Humana Foundation has tried new approaches to advancing health equity, while also focusing on mitigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and other disaster relief efforts. Throughout the past eighteen months, we’ve learned a lot from our partners. We have also spent a significant amount of time examining and refining our strategy and this work is not yet complete. While the Strategic Community Investment Program (SCIP) grants are an integral part of The Humana Foundation, our priorities have had to shift this year. As we continue the planning work that will shape the direction of The Foundation in years to come, we have decided to postpone the application process for new grantees until after the new year, and instead will determine this year’s investment strategy from our current partnerships.
We are aware that waiting for updates on this program may have disrupted your organizations planning process, and thank you for your patience. We remain deeply committed to investing in initiatives that create real change and move communities forward in creating health equity. We will have an update on the SCIP program in early 2022 after we launch our new strategy. Until then, we appreciate your grace and understanding during this time. Please look to our website and twitter for updates as we progress in our work.
